The Early Show is a morning news talk show that airs on CBS. The series is the successor to earlier morning news programs like This Morning and The Morning Show and routinely rates third among network morning news shows, behind Good Morning America and The Today Show.

The series initially ran for a full two hours, but negative response from affiliate stations and poor ratings caused the show to scale back to a format previously used in This Morning. The first hour is a local newscast with cut-ins from the national program and the second hour takes over without local news interruption.
