===Happenings===Captain Ridgeway was a decorated civil war hero reduced to being commandant of Fort Mercy,a military discipline barracks that he runs like a maximum security prison employing brutal torture tactics.Deputy Marshals Vance Porter and Del Stark stumble into the Fort to return an escaped prisoner just in time to get involved in a mutiny.Stark is taken prisoner along with a guard in the perimiter of the compound area and Porter pleas with Ridgeway to call in Goverment help.Ridgeway however has ambitions to return to his former rank and glory and plans to put down the rebellion at any cost by having his guards fire upon the prisoners, not caring if the innocent hostages get in the way or not.As the insurrection mounts Porter tries to call his boss Marshal Frank Ragan in but is incarcerated by Ridgeway for his troubles as the captain wants to do things his way with no goverment interference.
