Plot Overview
The Brady boys grow weary and short-tempered after having to help move their new stepsisters' belongings into the house. Cranky at having to share everything with three girls, the boys retreat to their clubhouse.
But before long, the girls decide they want access to the clubhouse, too. Lectures on family unity and sharing don't seem to work. At one point, even Mike sides with his sons, telling Carol that sometimes men need a place of their own, without women nearby. Carol is offended and begins to cry.
Eventually, Carol and her daughters decide that instead of crying about not being able to share the boys' clubhouse, they can build one of their own. What they build is nothing short of a train wreck, and the result amuses the men of the family. But when 2-by-4 nearly hits Cindy in the head, the fun ends and Mike and his sons decide to tear apart what only remotely resembles a clubhouse and build from scratch.
The end result is a professionally built structure for the girls. At its dedication, Mike notes everyone had a hand in building the clubhouse. But there's only one clubhouse in the end: Bobby used all the nails that held up the boys' clubhouse, forcing the six Brady kids to share the new clubhouse.

- Anti-war protests — After the girls' attempt to picket the boys' clubhouse fails, Jan remarks that similar protests "worked on TV." This is a subtle allusion to the anti-Vietnam War protests (largely by college students) of the late 1960s.
