Season Two of The Boondocks premiered on October 8, 2007. Although the season was meant to have 15 episodes, two episodes were banned from American broadcast. The Huey Freeman Hunger Strike and The Ruckus Reality Show were meant to air November 16 and December 17 respectively, but were since pulled.
Although Cartoon Network never issued a response as to why the episodes were "banned," both lampooned BET, another Turner Cable channel, and an anonymous source who reported the banning to HipHopDX.com suggested that BET executives may have pressured Sony Pictures Television to hold the episodes. The episodes were later broadcast on CTV on March 19, 2008 and appear on the second season DVD set.
