Plot Overview

Singer Rick James plays himself in this episode. He contacts The A-Team to for their help to find out about his friend, and fellow Rocker CJ Mack.CJ had been convicted for the accidental death of a young woman. While driving the car,he fell asleep at the wheel. He is due to be released soon, but what has Rick James concerned is that he had sent letters to CJ,but there has been no response. With this The A-Team decides to check it out.Knowing what day CJ is to be released, the team awaits outside the Prison, out of sight of course. The Prison Van to which CJ is to be takened to The Realeasing Center for official releasing leaves the Prison. With CJ in the back of the Van with two guards, and the driver up front, and The A-Team following at a safe distance, the Van suddenly goes in a different direction. The Team becomes suspicious, but continues to follow the Van until it stops in a back alley. The two guards in the back of the Van are in reality prison inmates, and the driver is the crooked head guard of the Prison named Quint for whom they work for. They force CJ out of the Van for the purpose of gaining information from him,and then kill him. Before this can happen,The A-Team rescues CJ.The Team, and CJ hide out at a Mansion that Face is House sitting for.CJ explains his situation to the team, and later when Face brings CJ's Lawyer to the Mansion,he explains his situation to her as well. The story does as follows...CJ was working on a work furlough program,a program run by the head guard Quint. One day CJ had secretly recorded some inmates talking about the crimes that the inmates commit when they are working outside. They would be dressed in construction clothes, having already caste out the the business that they have targeted, they then rob the place, and rejoin the other inmates back at the work site. All under the supervision of head guard Quint.Their alibi would always be that they were in Prison at the time of the robberies.Quint, and the other inmates found out about CJ's recording, and CJ knowing they know had hidden the recording in the floor of one of the rooms at the Prison. He did not have a chance to retrieve it upon his release. He could'nt take any chance on telling his Lawyer,or his fellow rocker Rick James(neither in letter,or when they had visited him)for risk that the guards, and inmates would be listening in on their conversations.Once they find out,he was constantly watch everywhere. His Lawyer is at a lose as to what to do,but Hannibal has a plan:find out where the inmates will strike next, and stop them. Then after turning them over to the Police,CJ will surrender to his Lawyer( so that she will not be implicated with known felons),and clear CJ who is officially still listed as an escape convict. The A-Team stakes out the inmates on furlough at a Construction site, while the inmates await to rob their next target:a Jewelry Store. The badguys strike, but The A-Team is ready, and needless to say, they catch the robbers, and turn them over in front of the Police Station with a note which reads:"how can mugs like these be robbing a Jewelry Store, while serving 20-years to life?".With this CJ,and his Lawyer Devon head for the Releasing Center.Later, she would find out that CJ is back in the Prison, and when she tries to find out why,she gets no answers.Plus, the reports of the inmates that were arrested are gone, like they had never committed any crimes. The Warden himself varified that those inmates never left the Prison. With these turn of events, the team puts two,and two together, and figures that Warden Crichton was behind the whole crime thing. He is one that wanted CJ killed outside the Prison so as not to draw suspicion to himself,by pretending to help CJ get an early pardon. Now,that CJ is back in Prison is life could be short-lived at any time.Hannibal comes up with a plan to not only save CJ,but to expose the Warden in such a way that he dare not touch CJ.The plan would include going inside the Prison, one of the worst places for The A-Team to be in.There is a 50-50 chance that his plan would work, but that is the only odds that they have.
