Temptation is a game show that aired on ABC daytime. It pitted three contestants trying to outguess each other in selecting prizes.
Five rounds are played, and in each round, three prizes are shown--a low value prize, a medium value prize and a higher value prize. In the first two rounds, each contestant secretly locks in which prize he/she wants. The selections are then displayed. If each contestant selects a prize the others did not, they each win their selected prize (theirs to keep no matter what happens). If two select the same prize, then the sole contestant who did not duplicate wins his/her prize. If all three make the same selection then nobody wins any of the prizes. The value of the prizes won are displayed on the contestants’ podiums.
In rounds three and four, the same system applies, except that the contestants can change their minds following their initial selection. The fifth and final round is the same as the first two except if two players make the same selection, the sole contestant who did not duplicate wins all three prizes. The highest total in prize value is champ and that player returns on the next show to defend.
Temptation is unrelated to the later Temptation: The All-New Sale of the Century.
