Talk:The Venture Bros./Powerless in the Face of Death

From The TV IV
Jump to: navigation, search

Actually, does anyone have a screencap of Dr. Venture sticking out of the wall? I think that would be a much better image to illustrate the episode without being spoilery. -- Lampbane 11:12, 27 June 2006 (EDT)

One after Brock rolled the TV into the lab, so 2 of his 3 parts are in the same frame. DCEdwards1966 | Talk 11:44, 27 June 2006 (EDT)
I'll probably be able to grab it myself when I get home from work tonight. I meant to do it last night but my Replay TV crashed while I was transferring the episode to my computer. Additionally, almost all of the other episode images need to be replaced with clean screencaps (no [adult swim] logo) now that the DVD set is out. I can take care of that later, if no one else gets to it first. -- Lampbane 11:50, 27 June 2006 (EDT)
Let me confess here that I have no idea why the file came out so grainy since I recorded on "high" quality. -- Lampbane 21:29, 27 June 2006 (EDT)
If you're going to insist on replacing the old picture, make sure that your picture is on par to the quality of the old. If it isn't, leave the old one until you get a picture that's appropriate. --IndieRockLance 16:46, 28 June 2006 (EDT)
The picture should also actually be useful and say something about the episode... which Dr. Orpheus staring at the ground doesn't do. I cleaned up the image a bit, it looks better now. -- Lampbane 21:55, 28 June 2006 (EDT)
No, it doesn't. The extraneous black borders are still uncropped and the picture is still extremely fuzzy, especially in comparisson to the original. I appreciate what you're trying to do here, but the picture quality isn't good enough to warrant changing it. --IndieRockLance 23:00, 28 June 2006 (EDT)

Referbacks

First off, the henchmen didn't blow up the cocoon before 1x13. While going down the list, the Monarch asks about it and they say "not yet." Secondly, Dr. Venture mentioning that he didn't lose his virginity until he was however old isn't a referback. It's just stating a fact about the character. Now, if Dr. Venture lost his virginity in an episode, then that would be a referback. But, because that isn't the case, it shouldn't be listed in the referbacks section. --IndieRockLance 18:27, 28 June 2006 (EDT)

Actually, yes they did blow up the cocoon previous to this episode. As they are driving down the highway in the Monarchmobile at the end of 1x13, 21 says that they've done everything on the list EXCEPT kill the Venture Bros. -- Lampbane 21:45, 28 June 2006 (EDT)
And I'll drop the virginity thing, though I feel like there might be a reason they mentioned it again. Maybe it should be placed in "characters" if only because now we know she was hideous. But I'm not not dying to place it. -- Lampbane 21:50, 28 June 2006 (EDT)
