Plot Overview
Hooker is forced to take action and call in a SWAT team when three desperate escaped criminals, including convicted murderer Rita Holmes (who had been sentenced to death for her crimes) and trigger-happy loudmouth Joe Bram (who had previously been sent to prison by Hooker for murder and holds a grudge against him for it), take several hostages inside a church, including Stacy and Corrigan (who had been shot and seriously wounded during the hostage taking), and demand money and safe passage to Mexico in exchange for the hostages' freedom. While Bram shoots a SWAT officer, threatens to rape Stacy and violently assaults the church priest who attempts to defend her, Hooker brings in Holmes' daughter Marcy to try to convince her mother to do the right thing and give herself up. When the criminal trio attempt to flee in a limousine with Hooker and Stacy as their captives, Romano uses his sniper training to shoot and kill Bram from the church's bell tower while Hooker and Stacy disarm Holmes and trio leader Tom Randall and turn them over to police custody.
