The Switch

Reward Challenge - Dive Masters

  • On Jeff's signal the tribe would have ten minutes to grab as many markers from underwater as they can. At the end of ten minutes, the tribe with the most markers wins reward. The reward is a trip to the waterfall. Awaiting them are the Pringles and beer. Yasur chose to sit out Bubba because they know that he can't swim. Yasur took an early lead when Scout grabbed the first marker while Lopevi's Twila had difficulties with the knots. The challenge was in a dead heat until Lopevi suffered a major blow when Chris dropped the 12 foot marker watching it sinking to the bottom of the sea. Still John grabbed two markers in two attempts tying up the contest. Lopevi took the lead when some Yasur members had difficulty diving deep enough for the next marker. As Ami grabbed the seventh marker for Yasur to tie the game, Lopevi's Sarge rose back up to the surface revealing that he had a problem with his ear. John dove in for the tribe's eighth marker just as Rory grabbed Yasur's eighth marker. John tied the contest at 8. It came down to Ami and Chris. Ami went to 22 feet as Chris went to 24 feet. Both tribes waited for their tribemember to pop out of the water. Chris came out and showed his tribe that he got the marker giving Lopevi the lead. In the end, Ami couldn't get the knot undone and rose up to the surface empty-handed giving Lopevi the reward.

Tribal Happenings

Immunity Challenge - Outwit, Outplay, Outrig

  • On Jeff's signal, the tribes would start with each of their two tribemembers to race into the jungle and untie the frame. Once the tribe has the frame and takes it to the tribe mat, two different tribemembers would go further into the jungle and untie both paddles. Once they brought the paddles back, the last two tribemembers would go even further into the jungle to untie the outrigger. Once they brought it back to the beach, the tribe would start assembling the canoe. Once done, two tribemembers would paddle to the wodden buoy and grab their tribe-colored flag and paddle back to shore. The canoe must hit their tribe flag before they jump out. First tribe back to mat with their tribe-colored flag wins immunity. As Jeff explained the challenge, Bubba tried to communicate with Chris, but Ami caught the exchange. As the challenge began, Lopevi took the lead when Sarge and Twila attacked the knots with speed and grabbed the frame ahead of Bubba and Ami. Chad and Julie went for the paddles with Leann and Eliza behind. Chad and Julie untied the paddles first to pull the lead over Leann and Eliza. Chris and John went for the outrigger with Rory and Lisa in the back. Lopevi pulled ahead when John attacked the knots. Rory, on the other hand had trouble untying them causing Yasur to fall behind. Lopevi started assembling their canoe just as Rory finally untied the knots. Lopevi pulled ahead when John and Chad began paddling while Yasur had a bad pushoff. Yasur saw a window back in the challenge when John and Chad veered off course. But it wasn't enough for Yasur to close the gap when John and Chad got back on track and grabbed the flag and paddled back to shore and win immunity for their tribe.

Tribal Happenings

  • Bubba and Rory knew they were on the chopping block. Eliza tried argue that without the men, Yasur's ability to compete in challenges would be compromised. But Ami negated Eliza's protests claiming that Bubba's attempt to communicate with Chris at the immunity challenge was viewed as treachery.

Tribal Council

  • Bubba's excessive scheming resulted in his downfall and Rory joined the women to vote him out.
