Sugar Rush (2005–06) is adapted from July Burchill's novel. Fifteen-year-old Kim has just moved with her dysfunctional family to Brighton, where she becomes best friends with Sugar and immediately develops an enormous crush on her—alas, Sugar is straight. The show explores growing up young, horny, and gay in 21st century Britain.
