Plot Overview
Stoney is asked by Senator Lockridge, who aided his poor family when he was a child, for help in his re-election campaign, and despite the fact that he's not much on giving speeches, agrees to help. He soon changes his attitude toward the Senator when an old man in the audience interrupts his speech, yelling out that Lockridge is a liar and a murderer, and is brutally beaten by some of Lockridge's men. Stoney soon discovers what the old man was on about: Lockridge used substandard materials in some of his construction projects, including a building that collapsed and killed people, including the old man's son.
