Plot Overview
As Picard begins to take three young winners of a primary school science contest on a tour of the ship, the Enterprise is struck by a natural phenomena (a quantum filament) that causes massive and devastating power failures to occur all over the ship.
Communication in the ship is cut off and crew members are trapped. Picard and the children are caught in the turbolift; Crusher and LaForge are stuck in the cargo bay and Riker, Worf, Data and Keiko O'Brien in Ten Forward. Troi is acting ship's Captain, being the highest ranking officer remaining on the bridge.
