[edit] Biography
Although versatile actor Stan Kirsch is best known as Richie Ryan on Highlander, he started his career at age 4 as a Campbell soup kid. When his parents decided it would be better for him not to pursue a career as a child actor, he left the entertainment business behind to pursue an education. After graduating magna cum laude from Duke University, Stan was drawn back into acting. He has played such diverse roles as an abusive husband on Family Law, a wistful would-be suitor on Love Boat: The Next Wave, a Washington newspaper reporter on First Monday and a military lawyer on JAG.
In 2004, Stan made his debut as a screenwriter, director and producer (Stan also appears in the film) with the comedy short Straight Eye: The Movie is available on DVD.
Although his teaching and coaching activities keep him busy, Stan plans to continue acting and hopes to branch out into directing in the future.
