The leader of the Mobile Infantry squad Razak's Roughnecks, Lieutenant Jean Razak was a seasoned Infantry veteran with no less than ten meritorious service decorations. Razak's leadership was hard but fair, and he was always determined to make sure that every trooper under his command would make it home alive, risking his life on many occasions to bring back troopers from seemingly inescapable situations.

Razak's left arm, lost before the start of the series in an early skirmish with the Bugs, was a cybernetic prosthesis equipped with a combat-grade laser weapon.
