Red Dwarf/Stasis

A stasis chamber is a special room in which time can be completely stopped. Anyone inside the chamber when it is activated will not experience anything at all. Nothing. Time stands still inside the room, but it continues normally outside. In fact this is how Dave Lister ends up living three million years in the future without even aging a day.
The Jupiter Mining ship Red Dwarf has two such chambers.
