Red Dwarf/GELF

Acronym: Genetically Engineered Life Form

General

• All GELFs are genetically engineered from Earth life.
• Some GELFs have their sphinctral orifices in their face.

The Hairy Variety

• A somewhat intelligent race of hairy, ape-like creatures who usually live in relatively primative, tribal societies. In spite of this, they are still a space-faring species. Their manner of speech includes the prodigious use of harsh consonants and glottal stops.
• They are known to be untrustworthy scavengers with no respect for life, law, or property.
• There are stories of this sort of GELF skinning human beings alive.
• One of the friendlier tribes is the Kinitawowi.

Pleasure GELFs

• in their natural state they appear as an amorphous green blob with a single stubby eye-stalk. However, each person perceives a pleasure GELF differently. They see what they want to see. They see their own notion of a perfect companion: the object of their desires.
• Pleasure GELFs are an androgenous species.

Polymorphs

• Polymorphs are very similar to pleasure GELFs, except the polymorph can appear not only as someone's perfect mate, but as anything else as well. All polymorphs feed off human emotions in some way or other.

Psirens

Psirens are insect-like bipeds just over 2 metres tall. They feed on human brains, and will typically do so using a straw. They are able intice their prey using their powers of illusion to appear as beautiful women or loved ones. They can even exercise their powers at great distances, such as luring a victim to land on a planet or asteroid.
