We are introduced to Gretchen at the beginning of the third season, after Michael has been incarcerated in the horrific Sona prison, when she meets Lincoln at a Panamanian hotel bar. We quickly learn that she is as ruthless, cold and calculating as she is beautiful. It is revealed she has captured both L.J. and Sara as hostages and in exchange for their lives, Michael must breakout a fellow Sona inmate, James Whistler within the week or L.J. and Sara will die.
