Plot Overview

A dedicated young doctor is accused of killing the Chief of Medicine at his hospital. The prosecution thinks that the fact that the dead man wanted to fire the resident is motive and that a violent argument they had before the murder combine for a solid case, but Petrocelli is certain that any number of other people at the hospital also had valid motives for murder, including another doctor, who lost a bundle on a bad oil field investment that the dead man roped him into, and a young male nurse, whose bid for application to medical school was shot down by the victim.
