Plot Overview
The burden of proof is usually on the prosecution, but this time it's on Owen: he has to clear an acquaintance of his and Jess's of hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter charges. The man insists that he didn't leave his apartment after arriving home from work, yet it was his car that was used in the fatal incident, complete with damages and traces of the victim's skin on the headlight. Jess admits that his friend's drinking and extramarital affairs might make him look bad in the eyes of the jury. Owen gets their client to retrace his steps that night, then wonders if a telemarketer's phone call he received has any bearing.
