Season Two of NCIS premiered on September 28, 2004. The season saw the show officially renamed to NCIS and introduced new main character Timothy McGee, an occasionally-recurring character from the latter portion of Season One.

Season Two wrapped up Ducky's "meat puzzle" plot and saw the departure of Sasha Alexander from the cast.
