Character History
Memorable Moments
Paula shoots a would-be assassin, preventing him from killing a GITMO detainee who was determined to be one of bin Laden's sons-in-law in 1x8 - Minimum Security. Though it is not shown, Paula overcomes a knife-wielding copy-cat serial killer while her arms are bound in 3x3 - Mind Games. In her final episode, at the cost of her own life, Paula jumps on a suicide bomber, preventing him from killing Special Agents Gibbs and DiNozzo, as well as several Muslim clerics in 4x19 - Grace Period.
Trivia
In 3x3 - Mind Games, the plasma display with serial killer Kyle Boone's mug shot and file, 'H1J3551CA' appears, which translates to 'HI JESSICA', a shout out to guest star, Jessica Steen (Paula Cassidy). In 6x7 - Collateral Damage, Paula's picture from her NCIS dossier is shown on a Tribute wall to fallen LEOs (Law Enforcement Officers) in a bar that Gibbs enters. It is the same picture that is seen in 1x8 - Minimum Security when the team is reviewing her file. In hindsight, Paula's character has some lines in 1x8 - Minimum Security and 2x8 - Heart Break that are quite ironic, given the nature of her own ultimate demise (martyred in an explosion). In Minimum Security, after shooting a would-be assassin in the shoulder to incapacitate him, Tony claims he would have killed the man, to which Paula replies: "And make him a martyr? No. This is worse than death." In Heart Break, Paula asks Tony "Did Commander Dornan really blow up?"
Quotes
"Tony, it's a cliché, but it is true: life is too short not to tell someone you love them if you do."
