Plot Overview
The killer is one of Canada's top pediatric surgeons. The victim is the owner of a newsstand. Initially, it's thought that a protection racket who was harassing the victim is the killer, but the punks have an alibi for the time of the murder, and secondly, the victim had his throat slashed with a very precise cut after he was numbed so he couldn't scream. Angie notices a number of pictures of the doctor and her family on the dead man's wall and initially suspects that he was stalking her, but in checking into the doctor, they find that she died some time ago in Europe. Once they find out that the doctor is using someone else's name, and also that the victim served 20 years ago as a peacekeeper in Bosnia-Herzgovina, they're able to deduce that they had met before.
