Maniac Mansion is a science fiction sitcom. The show is based very loosely on the game of the same name. The only connection is the main character being a scientist named Fred, a meteor (it drives Fred mad in the game whereas it powers his experiments in the show), and the titular mansion.

A significant portion of those both in front of and behind the camera had also worked on SCTV.
