Love Monkey is a comedic drama that aired on CBS for three episodes and on VH1 for five episodes. The series, based on the novel by Kyle Smith, revolves around a disgraced A&R Representative for a major record label, played by Tom Cavanagh, who attempts to rebuild his reputation by working with an independent label and a protégé artist played by Teddy Geiger. The series ran on CBS for three episodes before the plug was pulled entirely on February 9, 2006.
After the initial cancellation, producers of the show talked with UPN and, after the UPN/WB merger, The CW about continuing the show on a smaller network, but those talks fell apart in mid-March 2006. Finally, the show's creators settled on a deal with VH1 which showed the series in its entirety beginning on April 11 including the five previously unaired episodes. However, there are no plans to order any new episodes of the series.
