KJZZ-TV is an American local station in Salt Lake City, Utah. It serves the Salt Lake City area and the state of Utah. Sinclair Broadcast Group owns the station, which is an independent station operating on digital channel 46 (and displaying as virtual channel 14, the station's former analog channel, on digital tuners). It is a sister station to KUTV, which is also owned by Sinclair.
History
KJZZ first began in 1989 as an independent station under the call letters KXIV. In 1993, the station changed the call letters to the current KJZZ-TV and also joined the PTEN syndication service. In 1995, the station joined the UPN network until 2001 when it became an independent once again. In 2006, the station joined MyNetworkTV until 2008 when the station flipped back to independent. Sinclair bought KJZZ on June 17, 2016, ending a local marketing agreement that station had with KSL-TV owner Bonneville International since 2010.
