Judging Amy (known as Shades of Gray during development) is a legal drama that aired on CBS.
Amy Gray, a New York attorney, separates from her husband and returns with her young daughter to her childhood home in Hartford, Connecticut. She becomes a judge on Connecticut's family court at age 34 and gets a divorce. Her mother, Maxine Gray, with whom Amy lives, is a caseworker for the Connecticut Department of Children and Families. In the de facto series finale (the series was canceled after the conclusion of the season), Amy quits the judiciary to run for the U.S. Senate.
