Plot Overview
What appears on the surface to be a murder of just another street person turns out to be one of Hunter and McCall's most puzzling cases, mainly because they can't prove that the victim ever existed...his prints don't turn up in any database, including that of the Federal government. From things found by the coroner, including perfect dental work and a fair amount of plastic surgery, they soon realize that the victim wasn't just an ordinary bum. They get a slight amount of help from their CIA friend Wilkes, but even he can't divulge to them the dead man's entire back story. On top of all this, they have to try and protect another street person who's the only witness to the killing and is being pursued by the killer.
