Plot Overview
Hunter goes to bat for a well-liked Asian-American patrolwoman who was seriously wounded in what appears to be an armed robbery attempt. She's accused of fatally shooting the business owner in what the police brass deem 'a rookie mistake', but Hunter's certain that one of the other shooters at the scene is the killer, and he sets out to find that man, who has one of the young officer's bullets in him and is attempting to obtain medical aid under the radar. Complicating Hunter's attempts is the fellow detective who's in charge of the case, a former training officer of Hunter's who's had a grudge against him since he was a rookie.
