Plot Overview
While dining at a friend's restaurant, Hunter is caught up in an armed robbery that ends with his friend dead, as well as a mysterious man who was speaking with him before the shooting. When he pulls out of the lot to chase the robbers, his car collides with a car containing two Metro officers, Saccio and Molenski, who were answering the call. Back at headquarters, Devane orders Hunter to work with the two Metro officers on the case. Headstrong Saccio thinks that they should be pursuing the redneck family behind the deadly robbery, but Hunter wants to find out why his friend was carrying a gun and also illegally bringing in large sums of money from his native Romania. Molenski thinks Hunter is taking the right approach, but is torn because she and Saccio have a relationship that extends far beyond their partnership. When another mysterious man, who claims to be the dead man's brother, arrives, Hunter immediately becomes suspicious of him, due to his odd behavior while at the morgue. Ultimately, Hunter soon discovers the connection between the 'brother' and his dead friend, which leads back to Romania and something far more deadly. The brother winds up tracking down the family who killed the restauranteur, looking for the dead man's wallet and something of value in it. Hunter and Molenski arrive too late...they find both Saccio and the family's matriarch dead.
