Operation Briefcase is the fourth episode of the second season of Hogan's Heroes, and the thirty-sixth episode overall.

Plot Overview

Hogan receives a message from London that there will be an agent named Hercules who will be dropped off at their rendevous site. Hercules will have a briefcase to give to Hogan. Hercules is dropped off at the rendevous site, but not before the airplane is hit by cannons and destoyed. Hercules is injured in the attack. The heroes take an injured Hercules into the tunnel and then into Hogan's room. Hercules doesn't make it. He was able to tell the heroes the mission. The briefcase which he was carrying contained a secret bomb which can be activated by closing the seal. The briefcase is to be delivered to General Stauffle, a man who is part of a plot to assassinate Hitler. Being a close confidant of Hitler, Strauffle would be able to get close to Hitler, activate the bomb, and leave before the explosion.

This episode is a rare episode where an ally is killed.
