Basic Information
Maya is the twin sister of Alejandro Herrera. Her first appearance in the "Heroes" series was in the "Four Months Later..." episode of season two. Maya's power, which has yet to fully be explained in the series, triggers when she is upset, and causes a thick, black substance to pour from her eyes and the eyes of the people around her, somehow killing them. Maya was responsible for the accidental death of Alejandro's fianceé. After the incident, Maya flees to a convent where Alejandro inevitably finds her. The duo decide to make the dangerous trek to America to seek help, and run into Sylar along the way.
