The Show
In a couple of interviews (one with Playboy magazine, the other with David Letterman), Jeff Daniels tells of a classic moment while filming this episode, one of his earliest acting jobs. Daniels' character, upon he and his buddies being busted by Five-O, asks McGarrett what will happen next. McGarrett responds, "I'll TELL you what now--prison for you punks!" Daniels then fluffed the next line, saying 'Yes, Sir, Mr. Garrett', causing Jack Lord to loudly yell "CUT!", stroll over to Daniels and wave his finger in his face, yelling 'That's MUHHH-Garrett!' and storm off, to the consternation of everyone on the set.
Daniels admitted at the time that it was no big deal to him if he got fired, saying that he just got a Hawaiian vacation!
