Plot Overview
When Thomas was killed by a head spade, everyone at the rehearsal was shocked, Trish burst extremely into tears, Madison was screaming, everyone else stood there. The sheriff comes into the church and sees what happened. He tells the people to go outside. Once everyone was outside, the sheriff tells them that it's very important to go back to the Candlewick. Back at the inn, Henry tells Abby about J.D. informing him of one last surprise. Cal and Chloe missed the rehearsal because they went on a sailing trip. When they got to the Cannery, Nikki tells Cal that the local couple got engaged when a male local found a diamond ring in the sand. Cal realizes that it was the same ring that was lost on the first night. Abby discovers J.D. in her room. J.D. informed Abby that the last surprise was the roman candle hidden in the unity candle. He wants Abby to help him, claiming he saw John Wakefield. Trish spilled the beans to her family about Richard and Katherine having an affair. Back at the Cannery, Cal informs Chloe about the engagement ring. In the woods, J.D. showed Abby a body hung in a tree. J.D. cut the rope with a knife and released a lower half of the body. The upper half was released as well, and Abby and J.D. were shocked to discover that it was Uncle Marty's corpse. Abby returns to the Candlewick and informed Henry about Uncle Marty's death. Henry was devastated. J.D. explained that Wakefield killed him. Henry attacked J.D. accusing him of hating their uncle. Abby broke up the fight and tells Henry that J.D. was just as surprised as her. She later tells them that there was a Wakefield copycat. Back at the Cannery, Chloe plays a trick on the local couple, pretending to be cheated on. The female local broke off the engagement and tossed the ring. Cal picked it up and he and Chloe ran off to the Candlewick, triumphantly. Abby takes Henry and J.D. to the attic and shows them articles about the murders that happened in between. Abby and Henry discovers the postcards that have "Liar" written on them. J.D. found papers that Wakefield may still be alive. They head back to the Candlewick, and tells the sheriff that Uncle Marty was killed. They, then exposed him of his secret obsessions. J.D. was thinking of digging up a grave to be sure Wakefield's dead. The sheriff locks J.D. into the pantry. Abby decided to dig up Wakefield's grave with Henry. Cal and Chloe returned to inn excited to have the ring back, but were surprised to hear about Thomas' death. Madison set J.D. free. Abby and Henry were digging up the grave and was about to pry the coffin open when the sheriff found them. Abby apologized, but the sheriff let them go on. They opened up the coffin to discover a skeleton. Abby and the sheriff reconciled. Cal tells Chloe that the proposal would have to wait. Richard was walking along the grounds on phone talking to his attorney, asking him to take further questioning from the sheriff. He sees Madison through the window, and gives his attorney an order which was cut short when suddenly, SPLOOSH! He was impaled to death by a harpoon. 9 down, a lot more to go. We've reached the halfway point. Is Wakefield really dead? Is the relationship over for Henry and J.D.? Will Cal ever propose to Chloe? Find out on the next Harper's Island.
