Ghost Hunters — Season Two

Ghostly Soldier / Medium House is the thirteenth episode of the second season of Ghost Hunters, and the twenty-third episode overall.

Overview

Ghostly Soldier

TAPS is investigating Crescent Hotel, an old building in Arkansas. The building was once the location of a fake cancer treatment center created by a con artist. There many people died and there have been reports of paranormal activity in the building since. Many have claimed to have seen an apparition of a former doctor walking down the hallways.

Upon arriving, there seems to be unexplained activity from the start. One member tries to get into Grant's room, but there is a computer bag blocking the doorway. He questions Grant about this, who claims that he had placed the bag next to the television stand. They think that this is strange and so they set up cameras in the room to see if they can capture the bag moving again. Unfortunately they bag doesn't move a second time.

Jason and Grant had the most striking experience of this investigation, the one where the title "Ghostly Soldier" is taken from. They are investigating the downstairs morgue using a thermal imaging camera when they capture something against a locker. They review the tape while still downstairs and notice that as they are panning the locker, there appears a human figure against the locker. They at first wonder if it is in fact a reflection of Grant, but are unable to recreate any such reflection. They also notice that the number 2 on the locker is red, which means hot, and they can think of no good reason for it to be such. They show this piece of evidence to the rest of the team who are also shocked by what they see. Jason believes that the image shows a hat on the figure's head. Jason especially wants to try to debunk this claim, and so he and Grant go downstairs to recreate the incident, but are again unsuccessful.

After reviewing the footage, they are unable to find any other evidence. There are several shots of orbs flying by but all agree that these are just bugs. They take the evidence to the owners of the hotel who are impressed by the footage of the figure in the downstairs locker. Jason and Grant conclude that there is some activity going on at the hotel.

Medium House

The owner of a home in Arkansas, medium Carroll Heath, claims that his house is haunted. When he plays the piano he claims that he can feel people around him watching. He also claims to hear footsteps around the house.

Jason and Grant send Dave and Dustin on a trail in the woods nearby where reportedly there are strange sightings. Originally they had asked Steve to go, but he turned down the request due to his fear of spiders. While Dave and Dustin are walking through the woods they see something which puzzles them. It is a figure whose eyes are distintly visible. They try and approach closer to this animal/being and eventually see that it is just a deer.

Jason and Grant are sitting in the family room with Carroll, who has gotten himself involved in the investigation. He has been walking around the house with them as they are taking the EMF readings and claiming to feel energy and such. While sitting in the family room, they decide to get a reading from Carroll. Carroll asks Jason questions, personal, which Jason says he is attempting to block because he does not want to reveal this information. Grant picks up on the thermal imaging that there is a strange pyschedelic effect surrounding Carroll as he is doing the reading, and that he has never seen this before when doing thermal imaging. In addition there is a similar heat field surrounding Jason as he is attempting to block the reading. Grant compares this phenomenon to what one would see in a kaleidoscope.

No evidence is captured of activity in the house other than this pyschic reading. Some orbs are captured in cameras, but these are regarded as just dust. No evidence for ghosts is found.

Notes

• Steve is upset that Jason and Grant inform Donna of where the cameras are to be placed instead of him. He says that she is not the technical advisor and he does not understand why they are telling her. Jason and Grant say they have talked about this and think that they should start including Steve on the tours. At the Heath house they do take Steve with them and all agree that things run smoother as a result.
