Overview
Bader's House
Jason and Grant tour Savannah and learn about how much death occurred in the city and how the city celebrates its history. They go to the Bader house, an old house previously owned by a merchant in the 1800s. Stephen Bader, the homeowner, claims that would hear someone knocking on the front door and then would get up to answer the door and would see the image of a woman in the window, but no one was outside. This happened to him often. The previous owner’s wife (the merchant in the 1800s) had committed suicide in the house by jumping out of the window. Mr. Bader believes that the husband having an affair with their slave might have been the cause. In the carriage house (where the slave lived) the person currently living there claims that he hears a woman’s voice calling his name sometimes at night.
While investigating with the heat detector in the basement, Jason and Grant notice that there are handprints on the wall. They put their own hands on the wall and see that the heat detector picks up the spot long after it should have gone away and acknowledge that this is unusual. Also while outside the carriage house, Jason and Grant hear a loud bang but are unsure where it is coming from. They investigate the audio equipment and hear something more; that of a woman in distress yelling loudly. While going through the evidence Brian and Steve see some evidence of orbs in some photos that both have a similar pattern but this doesn’t mean anything to Jason and Grant. Also they go through the audio of the woman screaming and can make out a person saying to go away and what sounds like a person being attacked. They tell the home owner Stephen Bader that there appears to be some activity going on but they can not say that the place is haunted.
Colonial Cemetery
Brian comes to Jason and Grant with an idea to investigate a nearby cemetery. Apparently there were many soldiers buried here from the Civil War and people have claimed to see people walking around without arms and legs. Also there is a report of a “man beast” which is a 7 foot tall retarded man who used to kill animals so the town people hung him in the cemetery, and now people claim to see this man walking around.
While investigating Dustin claims to see something and tries to follow it. Steve and Brian also see something but can’t make it out…. It’s actually Jason and Grant playing a trick on them, as they are dressed in ghost costumes. They just wanted to see how the team would react; would they run away or try to discover what was going on. They are pleased with the results.
Moon River Brewing Co.
At the Moon River Brewing Co. people often claim to see doors opening and closing and apparitions as well. This building is very old and was used as a hospital at various times including during the civil war. One particular staff member at the brewery claimed to see a shadowy figure walking towards them.
While investigating in the storage room, Steve and Brian try to provoke a ghost and get some strange activity as a result. They find a cold spot that then starts moving around the room in random order. Brian finds this quite odd as cold spots do not move in this way if they were caused by a draft. While in the basement Jason thinks he sees a shadow and they also hear noises, including that of a woman’s voice according to Jason. Later when Brian and Steve are down there they too see shadowy figures out of the corner of their eyes.
During analysis Steve and Brian find 2 interesting pieces of evidence. First they find a mist formation captured on DV camera. It is quite odd to find this with the naked eye according to Grant. They are impressed by this as the mist seems to form upwardly while the dust is flowing down. Also they find evidence of a shadowy figure in the basement moving behind the pool table. Jason and Grant are most impressed by this evidence, as is the owner when they show it to him. Jason, usually very skeptical, admits that he thinks that the Brewery is probably haunted.
Notes
Brian had called Jason and so Jason and Grant go to his apartment to talk to him. Brian admits that he had problem with taps earlier because he was involved in a “toxic relationship” that was forcing him to lie to the team to cover what he was doing. He had burned a lot of bridges but wants to be back part of the team again. Jason and Grant tell him that no matter what he won’t be back at the same position he had previous had, as the head of the tech department, since Steve has taken that over and is doing quite well. Jason says that the decision is up to Steve. Steve doesn’t particularly like the idea because of the bridges Brian burned while he was in his relationship. But Jason decides to bring Brian to Savannah with them and they will decide from there.
Later on while investigating the Bader house, Steve feels that the team is accepting him back in and that things are going well. Meanwhile Steve seems to think that Brian in fact shouldn’t have been let back in and comments that if it were his team Brian would not be back. But then later Brian and Steve talk and Brian says that he wants to mend fences and comments on how it will be especially tough to fix their broken relationship. They had previously been friends.
But by the end of the show, in the cemetery, Steve and Brian are joking around and having fun and appear to be on good terms again.
