Walkabout is the thirty-third episode of the second season of Gargoyles, and the forty-sixth episode overall.

Goliath, Elisa, Angela and Bronx arrive in Australia to find Dingo and Fox at work on a nano-technology project to reshape the world.

Plot Overview

Goliath, Elisa, Angela and Bronx land in Australia. There they observe a fast encrouching ice field that emerges from the ground, and suddenly stops.

Dingo, from the Pack, is in Australia, trying to purge his soul. The shaman tells him he needs to go on walk about. As he is out walking he encounters the Gargoyles. He uses a remote control to summon his robotic suit to battle with Goliath.

Fox is in Australia with her mother, Anastasia Renard. They are working together on some kind of nano-technology, artificial intelligence project.

As Goliath and Dingo are battling in the outback, there is another eruption of the ice like substance from the ground. It traps Angela and Dingo frees her.

Anastasia and Fox decide to reinitialize their project but before they can finish, the Matrix (the nano-technology, artificial intelligence) escapes from the magnetic containment field.

In the outback, the travelers and Dingo consult with the shaman. He tells them this new threat needs to be addressed in the dream time, an alternate universe that exists parallel to our own.

Fox and Anastasia, while fleeing from the Matrix, arrive at the campfire where Goliath and the others and talking to the shaman. They have a program which should shutdown the Matrix. Dingo offers to run the program using his exoskeleton's built in modem. Goliath and Angel go along to protect him, but they fail.

After they return to the campfire, the shaman once again counsels them to seek the Matrix in the dream time.

Goliath and Dingo enter the dream time together and seek out the Matrix. There they attack it using weapons from the dream time. The Matrix defeats them and captures them. Goliath pleads with the Matrix, arguing that the Matrix is destroying order not creating it. Dingo argues that law and order is a type of order.

Dingo and Goliath return from the dream time and find the Matrix is stopped. The Matrix joins with Dingo to learn about law and order.
