Plot Overview

After meeting George Takei in a comic book store, Fan Boy sees a WB special report while walked away feeling rejected over Mr. Sulu fleeing in terror from him. In the report, Freakazoid and his new sidekick Expendable Lad fight the Milkman, resulting in the defeat of Milkman and the severe milking of Expendable Lad. At that moment, Fan Boy decides that in order to be respected, he must become Freakazoid's new sidekick. Unfortunately for him, Freakazoid doesn't feel the same way. Still reeling from the loss of Expendable Lad, Freakazoid eventually decides to put Fan Boy through an initiation test, which involves putting a bag over his head and spinning him in circles. This gets Freakazoid nowhere because Fan Boy just shows up again. After being rejected once more, Fan Boy jumps on Freakazoid's back and the two fall into a comic book convention. The only way Freakazoid managed to get rid of him is by pawning him off on Mark Hamill.

In the Lawn Gnomes, the origin of the Lawn Gnomes, a parody of Gargoyles, is set up. In Denmark, 995 A.D., the Lawn Gnomes protect the human race from evil. In their journeys, they insult Erik the Large by stealing his clothes, which leads to him having his brother, Rathgar the Wizard, cast a spell on them. Rathgar's curse changes the gnomes to stone by day until they change and help mankind without gain or profit.

In Frenching with Freakazoid, Freakazoid teaches the audience how to say "Qui a coupé le fromage," or "Who cut the cheese?"

Quotes

  • Freakazoid: Hey, Mike, enough with the bells.
Mike: Sorry, I'm giving angels their wings.
Freakazoid: Well, cut it out and give me another one.
Mike: Hey, slow down, Mr. F. It's not like Expendable Lad's dead or anything. He's just in the hospital with a bruised clavicle.
Freakazoid: I said give me another one-- Curse your tiny paper hat!
  • Freakazoid: Alright, kid. You wanna be my new side kick? You've gotta pass the initiation test.
    Fan Boy: Challenge me!
Freakazoid: Mr. Cameraguy, zip pan to the next scene!
[Zip pan to a scene with two people standing with windmills in the background]
Freakazoid: NO! THE OTHER SCENE! AM I WORKING ALONE HERE?!
  • Freakazoid: Please! Leave me alone! I'll give you anything! Anything you want if you'll just go away! How about the just written script to Batman 4?
Fan Boy: Plucked it off the internet last night.
Freakazoid: An autographed photo of Stan Lee?
    Fan Boy: ...Who's that?
    Freakazoid: No idea.
  • Fan Boy: Luke! Join me!
    Mark Hamill: ...Come again?
  • Rathgar: Your willingness to change has so impressed me that I will affect a different curse.
Young Quist: Can you make slow, overweight birds appear out of thin air?
    Rathgar: Yes. But, I won't.
