Plot Overview
The episode is a satire of the Tea Party movement, the conservative political movement calling for less government, lower taxes and original interpretation of the Constitution. Here, Peter joins the Tea Party after Mayor West and Quahog City Hall try to shut down his illegally run business. His subsequent joining the party, successfully shutting down the town's government and the fallout that results provide the storyline.
