History

The first program to debut on Hulu was The Morning After, a 5-minutes news series, covering pop-culture phenomena, which premiered on January 17, 2011. It was later followed by dramatic series such as The Confession starring Kiefer Sutherland and Paul the Male Matchmaker starring Paul Bartholomew.

On August 17, 2011 the first long-form Hulu original program premiered: Morgan Spurlock's docu-series A Day in the Life. It returned for season 2 in 2012, alongside Hulu's first original scripted show; mockumentary comedy Battleground.

2012 and 2013 saw the introduction of several unscripted series: Richard Linklater's docu-series Up to Speed, reality series Raising the Bar, and the Kevin Smith lead movie review show Spoilers, and in August 2013 two more scripted half-hour series premiered: the animated comedy The Awesomes and western comedy Quick Draw.

Additionally, several UK and Canadian series, e.g. Misfits, Endgame, Mongrels, Whites, Spy, and The Booth at the End, are also available for the US audience, exclusively through Hulu.
