Basic Information

Andy Millman's big dream is to be a successful actor, starring in his own show. Unfortunately, three things have conspired to consistently scuttle this dream: fate and circumstance, the sheer incompetence of his agent Darren Lamb, and his own talent for stepping right in it, and then making matters worse when trying to dig his way out. As such, he's forced to make ends meet by working as an extra on various film sets and television shows, consistently looking for an opportunity to extend his profile (or at the very least the chance to actually have a spoken line) and thus try and make his dream come true.

Andy is frequently surrounded by rather more successful (and usually pompous, belittling and smug) actors in his daily life - including Ben Stiller, Ross Kemp and Kate Winslet—and is usually downtrodden and belittled by the various members of the casts and crews he works with who display little interest in the 'background talent', not to mention other, more successful extras. As such, he's rather bitter and cynical about the industry.

Character History

• Before becoming an 'actor' (read: extra), Andy used to work in a bank. His boss was apparently a something of a character, who inspired Andy to build a potential sitcom around him.

Memorable Moments

• After Ben Stiller, arrogantly throwing his weight around on the set of a movie he's directing, has challenged Andy to admit that he's 'nobody'.

Ben Stiller: Yeah. Nobody. Hmmm. And who am I?

Andy Millman: It's either Starsky or Hutch. I can never remember.

Ben Stiller: [Not amused] Was that supposed to be funny?

Andy Millman: You tell me. You were in it.
