Plot Overview
Carter misses his med school graduation to tend to a young girl in need of a liver transplant; after Jeanie learns that her estranged husband, Al has AIDS, she and Peter get tested for HIV; Susan has been chosen to be next year's chief resident, but she turns it down; fed up with issues involving patient care, Carol quits her job and ends up breaking up with Shep because he refuses to get help for his anger issues.
