Trivia

The Show

  • This marks the first appearance of companion Jo Grant, as well as the Master who would go on to become a primary antagonist for the Doctor over the course of the series.

Behind the Scenes

  • Producer Barry Letts is not credited as director for any of the four episodes. This was due to BBC regulation in the 1970s that prohibited a staff producer from also receiving screen credit for directing, as a way to discourage producers from taking directing duty, as this was open to potential abuse.

Memorable Moments

Goofs

  • Rex's last name is spelled "Ferrel" in the credits for all four episodes, even though his parent's names are consistently spelled "Farrell".
