Plot Overview

Betty has left the mortal coil for good and George isn't too happy about losing her friend. To exacerbate things, Betty has already been replaced. Daisy Adair, an actress who died in the 1940s, was transferred from the bureau in New York to fill in. Considering her sunny disposition, George hates her almost immediately. But the two are forced to be civil towards one another, not just as coworkers but as temporary roommates while Daisy gets set up in Seattle.

With Daisy completely taking over her life, George refocuses on work at Happy Time. There, she's coerced into playing for the agency's bowling team when one of the members gets promoted out of their company. The rest of the team, however, doesn't feel like Delores knows what she's doing and protests George being put on the team. On their first practice together, they kick her off the team before she can even get a ball and replaced with Russ just as fast as she agrees to quit. After having her life destroyed by Daisy and being rejected from something as trivial as bowling team, Rube suggests that George re-evaluate whether she wants to be the ball or the pin. But, at the moment where she tries to assert herself over Daisy, George chokes. But, on the other hand, she proves herself to be a capable bowler and wins the game for Happy Time.

Meanwhile, Reggie has stopped showing up at school. Joy insists that she needs to go to therapy, but Clancy is unflinching on his protection towards his surviving daughter. Because she has no back-up, Joy takes matters into her own hands. She plays along with not knowing what Reggie is up to and follows her to the tree where she's created a toilet seat shrine. The therapist suggests that the two do something to honor George's memory rather than trying to forget she ever existed. Reggie takes this suggestion further than Joy expected and unpacks everything from George's boxes and transforms her room into a temple.

Notes

Deaths

  • Norman P. Plotkin: Died 2:07PM at a family therapy clinic. Plotkin was a water deliveryman changing out the jug in the clinic when a graveling switched on the water spout. He slipped on the water and tossed the jug upwards, when it landed, it landed in his mouth and he drowned from excessive water consumption.
  • Russ Spinner: Killed 5:17PM in a tattoo parlor. Spinner was getting a tattoo of the Happy Time Cobras logo on his back when an irate customer burst in and apparently shot him. It is also possible that he was stabbed in the neck as a knee-jerk reaction from the tattoo artist being shot, the death itself wasn't entirely clear.
