Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team is a reality competition that airs on CMT The series follows young women as they audition, train and practice to join the famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Unlike such competition reality shows as America's Next Top Model or American Idol, which also follow audition processes, competition and training, the competition was not created for the show, and the show's producers make no alterations to the process. The subject of the show is the actual process for joining the cheerleading squad as it happens in real life, and the show goes behind the scenes to document the drama as the hopefuls are trimmed from over 1000 to the 40 or so who make it to the opening home game.
