Basic Information
Masao is one of Shin's friends at the Futaba Kindergarten. Masao is not very brave. He can be a crybaby at times and rather sensitive. He's been compared to the Peanuts character Linus, if he never had his blanket. While his classmates try to be more mature, Masao enjoys childish things like toys, kids' shows, love and kindness.

Vitello and Phuuz's name for Masao is changed to Max.
North American
FUNimation's name for Masao is retained, but spelled as Maso, which is also a proper romanization of the name.
In this version, the kids and teachers of the kindergarten, which FUNimation has redubbed as Super Happy Funtime American School, suspect Maso might be gay. Maso doesn't like being called gay, but he can never actively disprove it. He keeps up with US pop culture reading Us Magazine.
