Basic Information

Himawari Nohara, or Hima-chan, is Shin-chan's baby sister. She does not appear in the series until September 27, 1996. This is several years into the show, after Mitsuru Hongo vacates the show's directing position, filled by Keiichi Hara.

Hima's name translates to Sunflower in English. She is attracted to older men, including Shin's friend Kazama-kun.

Foreign Language Differences

Hima's only difference in other languages is her name. In the English versions distributed by Vitello and Phuuz, her name is Daisy. In the North American version by FUNimation her name retained, albeit often spoken in the shortened Hima. Coincidentally, Hima translates to a filthier word in English. In the FUNimation version, it is implied that Hima was birthed due to a broken condom that Hiro tried to fix with tape.
