Plot Overview
A young woman is stabbed to death after announcing her engagement, and her uncle is arrested for her murder. He insists that he got drunk and blacked out and has no recollection of the murder, and his family tells Annabeth that he drinks heavily on the anniversary of his mother's death, which the family says was due to a car accident, but the suspect's estranged sister drops a huge bomb...the mother didn't die in an accident, but rather was shot to death by the suspect, at the age of 14, and that he had a drinking problem at that time. Annabeth is led to believe that the man gets dangerously violent when drunk, but new evidence turns up, warranting a closer look at the mother's murder.
