Plot Overview

After a disgruntled homeowner deliberately drives his car through the front window of a home appraisal company's office, Annabeth decides to look into the man's allegations that his house, as well as a number of other houses in his neighborhood were overappraised. She gets enough evidence to bring the developer of the houses to court on multiple counts of real estate fraud. When one of the two brothers who operated the appraisal company is found dead, Annabeth has to wonder whether he's guilty of murder as well, but the coroner's investigator finds evidence that strongly suggests that a close relative of the victim was the killer.
