Plot Overview

With Zoe's avatar still out of reach, Clarice keeps up her ruse of providing a shoulder for Amanda, especially when she begins seeing her dead brother, which Clarice interprets to be a part of something bigger.

Joseph dives into New Cap City to find Tamara, as Zoe continues to court Philo to help get her robotic body off-world, but may wind up helping Daniel who is still being hounded by Vergis to sell the Buccaneers.

Happenings

• Vergis continues to annoy Daniel about selling the Buccaneers, preying on the rumour that they can't get the MCP to work. Believing Vergis has tipped his hand, Daniel is only reassured not to sell.

• The swipe drive shows Zoe's avatar was taken off Daniel's computer and unto something else. Clarice continues to befriend Amanda to find what that might be.

• Zoe continues her ruse in "dating" Philomon and in an attempt to encourage him to get the U-87 outside, she winds up giving the idea that the reason the MCP can't be copied is because it's analogue; not digital. Philo shares this theory with Daniel who ponders it being a generative process like a human system. When he sees the family dog Caesar react to the U-87, Daniel suspects that Zoe is inside.

Characters

• Keon tries to get Lacy to tell him what it is she wants to get to Gemenon, but she sticks to her promise to Zoe. When he tells her Barnabas won't help unless she's STO, she then pledges to become part of the Soldiers of The One.

• Joseph has Heracles and takes him into New Cap City to find Tamara. However, Heracles is killed in the game and can therefore no longer return to help him. Joseph is later approached by a woman named Emmanuelle who was allegedly sent by Heracles to help him.

• Amanda begins seeing her dead brother, Darius, who was killed in a car crash. She also sees various signs that that relate to the accident, including a letter from the hospital where she stayed for 2 and half years because was having trouble coping with his death and suffered a mental breakdown.
