Mac and Hawkes investigate a dead body found in a hedge maze that seems to be a college fraternity initiation gone wrong.

The son of Mac's dead wife, Reed Garrett, appears in this episode as a college student working on a news article. At the end of the episode, he asks Mac where his mother's grave is so he can visit it. Mac has to tell him that there is no grave, as no body was ever found.
Adam (Lab Tech) recognizes signs of abuse in the behavior of the thief Ava Brandt while viewing surveillance video. He confesses that he his father was a bully.
